Costs

Germany and Austria Tourist/Business Visa: Single entry, valid for 3 months: €50 (express processing: €100). Multiple entry, valid for 3 months: €70 (express processing: €120). Multiple entry, valid for 6 months: €90 (express processing: €140). Multiple entry, valid for 1 year: €130 (express processing: €180). Switzerland Tourist/Business Visa: Single entry, valid for 3 months: 100 CHF.

Tourist and Business Visa.

Validity

1 month (single entry) or 1-3 as well as 6, 9 and 12 months (multiple entries). The length of stay can be extended in the country (immigration authorities in Bamako or any police station).

Transit

Otherwise transit travelers who require a visa, who fly on within 24 hours, have valid documents for the onward journey and do not leave the transit area, do not need a transit visa. In person or by post at the consulate or at the consular department of the embassy (see contact addresses).

Application required

Tourist visa: (a) 2 application forms (downloadable from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos (color photo with light background). (c) Passport that is valid for at least 6 months upon entry. (d) Fee (cash upon application or by personal check or bank transfer). (e) Hotel Booking Receipt. (f) Flight Confirmation. Business Visa: (a)-(f)(g) Letter of Posting. (h) Invitation letter from the company in Mali. (i) Passport copy of the signer of the letter of invitation. A stamped, registered return envelope must be enclosed with the application.

Processing time

The documents should be submitted at least 3 weeks before departure. The processing time is usually about 2 weeks. Express processing of approx. 2 days is currently only possible to a limited extent.

Documents required upon entry

Return or onward travel ticket, certificate of yellow fever vaccination.

Entry with children

German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Attention: Children under 18 traveling without their guardians need their written consent (if possible in French). Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document to travel abroad (including within the EU). (Passport / childrens passport). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
