Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months upon departure. The passport should have at least two blank pages.
Note on the passport
Since entry is via South Africa, the entry requirements there must also be met.
Visa information
A visa is generally required for entry into Lesotho, except for citizens of the following countries listed in the table above for a stay of 14 days (possibility of extension up to 3 months) (unless otherwise stated): (a) Germany, Austria and some other EU countries (Ireland Rep. for stays of up to 90 days) ([1] Exceptions: Citizens of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Hungary require a visa). (b) Switzerland.

Transit
Visa-free transit is not possible. Tourist, business, student and diplomatic visas must be applied for as an e-Visa at the official visa website of the Kingdom of Lesotho: evisalesotho.com For further information, please contact the consular section of the relevant embassy (see contact details).
Application required
(a) 1 application form (downloadable from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (c) 2 passport photos. (b) Passport that is valid for at least six months at the time of departure and has at least two blank pages. (d) Proof of payment of the fee (in cash or by personal check upon application). (e) Proof of confirmed return or onward travel tickets. (f) Proof of accommodation (e.g. hotel booking). Business visa additionally: (g) letter of secondment from the company with information on the purpose and duration of the trip and confirmation of the assumption of costs. A stamped, registered return envelope should be enclosed with the application.

Proof of sufficient funds
Foreigners must be able to prove sufficient funds upon entry.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Minors traveling alone must have a written declaration of consent from their parents/guardians who are not traveling with them. The child’s birth certificate and the parents’ marriage certificate should also be presented. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
