Lancaster Bible College was founded in 1933 by Dr. Wilbur Gingrich and Rev. Harold Heisey as the Lancaster Bible Institute. The school was originally located on East King Street in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and had an enrollment of 22 students. The school moved to its current location on the outskirts of Lancaster in 1951 and changed its name to Lancaster Bible College in 1967.

Since then, the college has grown significantly in size and scope, now offering over 40 degree programs across five academic divisions: Arts & Sciences, Biblical & Ministry Studies, Business & Leadership Studies, Music & Worship Arts Studies, and Teacher Education. The college also offers a variety of online courses for both undergraduate and graduate studies.
