Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months when you leave the country.
Visa information
Attention: Before entering the country, the International Travelers Health Surveillance Form must be filled out online. A visa is required for nationals of the countries listed in the table above, among others. Exception: [1] Citizens of Cyprus do not need a visa to enter Kenya. e-Visa e-Visas must be applied for through the electronic visa system. All visitors receive a visitor’s pass upon entry.
Note on the visa
For Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda there is a common visa, the East Africa Tourist Visa (EAC). This common visa is issued upon arrival at airports in Kenya. It allows multiple entries and costs US$101. It is recommended to apply for this visa at the responsible Kenyan representation before travelling. In the past, when applying for a visa at the airport in Kenya, there were often long waiting times and difficulties because payment of the visa fee was often only accepted in US dollars.

Validity
3 months. Extensions for a maximum of another 3 months can be applied for at the Immigration Department in Nyayo House – Kenyatta Avenue / Uhuru Highway, PO Box 30191-00100, Nairobi as well as in Mombasa or Kisumu.
Transit
Transit travelers who fly on with the next connection, have valid documents for the return or onward journey and do not leave the transit area do not need a transit visa. Online via the electronic e-Visa system or upon arrival.
Application required
Tourist visa: (a) Apply online (b) 1 passport photo (2 for multiple entries). (c) Passport valid for at least 6 months upon departure and containing at least two blank pages (with two copies of all relevant pages for multiple entries) (d) Fee (by credit card). Children under the age of 16 accompanied by their parents do not require a visa and do not have to pay a visa fee. (e) Travel confirmation or copy of round trip ticket. Processing time
Postal: 10 working days. Personal application: 5 days. The processing time also depends on whether the application needs to be sent to Nairobi for approval. In this case, the processing time can take 6 weeks or longer. e-Visa: Approx. 7 days. East Africa Visa: 11 days in Berlin.
Proof of sufficient funds
All travelers must have a return/onward ticket and sufficient funds (US$500 minimum) upon entry.
Documents required upon entry
(a) Printout of e-Visa. (b) Return or onward travel ticket and documents. (c) Sufficient funds for the stay (minimum US$500). (d) Proof of vaccination against yellow fever, if applicable.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Attention: Children traveling alone who require a visa need their own passport, a visa and a written travel permit from both parents. Children under the age of 16 accompanied by their parents do not need a visa and do not have to pay a visa fee. However, you need a passport. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible. Minors who have a different surname than the adult accompanying them should be able to prove their relationship to this adult (e.g. with a birth certificate).
Entry with pets
A health certificate and a rabies vaccination certificate issued in the country of origin are required for dogs and cats. The rabies vaccination must have been carried out at least 1 month and at most 12 months before arrival. In addition, an import permit must be presented, which will be issued by the embassy in Berlin within 1 week if the application is submitted by post or within one day if the application is submitted in person. A cover letter to the embassy containing the personal data of the traveler (especially name and address) is required. The fee, which can be paid by debit card or bank transfer, is €57.
