Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the stay.
Visa information
A visa is generally required except for nationals of the following countries listed in the table above for stays of up to 30 days. This applies to all visa categories including business, private, tourist, transit visa etc.: (a) Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as all other EU countries; (b) Turkey.
Note on the visa
If there is a justified need for investors and business people from the above-mentioned countries to extend their stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan, they can apply for a visa in the “business visa” category at the internal authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (migration police).

Costs
Children up to 6 years are exempt from visa fees. Germany and Austria tourist visa: €50 (valid for 1 month, single entry, 30 days stay). Visitor/Business Visa: €75 (valid for 1 month, single entry). Transit visa: €15 (one-time), €80 (multiple). Switzerland tourist visa: 60 CHF (valid for 1 month, single entry, 30 days stay); 90 CHF (multiple entries). Visitor/business visa: CHF 80 (valid for 1 month, single entry), CHF 200 (valid for up to 1 year, multiple entries). Transit visa: CHF 20 (one-off), CHF 90 (multiple). Visa types and costs
Tourist, business, visitor, transit, work, and diplomatic and service visas.
Transit
A transit visa valid for 3 days is available for travelers who require a visa upon entry if valid onward travel documents and, if applicable, a visa from the third country can be presented. The transit room must not be left. However, obtaining a transit visa beforehand in your home country is strongly recommended, as applying for a visa at the border can be very time-consuming. Personally or through intermediaries (travel agency, tour operator, Visa agency) at the earliest 3 months before departure at the consulate or at the consular department of the embassy. Applications submitted by post will not be processed.
Application required
Documents: In general: (a) 1 application form (possibly with an additional “migration card” form). (b) 1 recent color passport photograph. (c) Passport that is still valid for at least 6 months beyond the validity of the visa (Berlin and Bern: at least two blank pages; Frankfurt: at least one blank page). (d) Fee (original deposit receipt with bank statement). (e) Repatriates: certificate of release from citizenship (f) Invitation (in principle, invitations from Kazakhstan are not required for one-time business, service, private and one- or two-time tourist visas at the Kazakh consular authorities. Invitations are for long-term stays and required for multiple entries. ) (g) supporting documents for the purpose of travel. If the application is submitted by post, a stamped, registered return envelope should be enclosed. In addition, the following documents may be required (detailed information can be obtained from the consular representatives): Tourist visa: This is applied for by the travel agency when booking flights and hotels. An HIV test must be presented for permanent residence and work permits. Processing time
Generally a few days to several weeks. Frankfurt: At least 10 days, express issuance not possible. Berlin: At least 8 working days. Express issue not possible. The application can be made no earlier than 3 months before the planned trip.
Legally Required Registration
All foreigners must register with the migration police or migration service within 3 days. The inviting party (e.g. hotel, private individual, company, etc.) must register.

Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport (for minors under 16 years of age) or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
Entry with pets
Pets are required to have a pet ID card and a veterinary certificate of the animal’s health, no more than 10 days old, with a translation into Kazakh or Russian. Pets are not allowed in Kazakh hotels. The import of pigeons is prohibited.
