According to timedictionary, Jersey is an island and British Crown Dependency in Europe, located approximately 22 kilometers from the French coast (close to Brittany). Jersey, together with the island of Guernsey and some smaller islets, form the Channel Islands. The capital of Jersey is Saint Helier. A number of major cities in Jersey are: Gorey, Saint Brélade, Saint Aubin, Saint Peter and Trinity.
Despite the small size of the island (116 km²), it still has a lot to offer. There is a nature reserve with protected species (Durell Wildlife Conservation Trust). You will find bears, silverback gorillas and tree frogs there. Furthermore, the island has vineyards, the Jersey War Tunnels (tunnels made during the occupation of the Nazi army) and the famous “Mont Orgueil” castle in Gorey. The island is also known for its many fish restaurants. Jersey’s coastline varies from rock formations and sandy beaches to small coves. The island is also known as a water sports destination. You can go diving to shipwrecks, surfing, sailing, sea kayaking, fishing, jet skiing, kite surfing, wakeboarding and water skiing.
