Ischia is a rocky island with Monte Epomeo (787 meters) as its highest point. This mountain is therefore the center of the island. Due to the fertility of the slopes of this mountain, many vineyards are located here. Furthermore, the island is mainly green with many forests. The coastline is mostly rocky interspersed with some sandy beaches. Ischia is known for its narrow streets, idyllic towns, hot springs and natural mud baths. As a result, most tourists come for one of the many spas. Ischia is also known for “Castello Aragonese”. This is a large castle built on a small island off the coast of Ischia. This can be reached from Ponte Ischia via a dam.
