Inter American University of Puerto Rico at Guayama, established in 1964, is the second oldest of the Inter American University of Puerto Rico campuses. It was founded by Dr. Antonio R. Barceló and a group of educators with the desire to provide educational opportunities to students in the region. The university initially offered programs in Business Administration and Education at the undergraduate level, and eventually expanded its offerings to include graduate-level programs in Business Administration, Education, Psychology, Criminal Justice and Computer Science.
