Indiana Travel Guide

Overview

Bordering Lake Michigan to the north, Indiana is made up of deep valleys, cornfields as far as the eye can see, mountain foothills and vast farmlands. Home to the peace-loving Amish communities, the state is known for its covered bridges, Indian Mounds (Native American burial and cultural mounds) and the legendary Indy 500 auto race. In the middle of the hilly plains lies Indianapolis, the capital of Indiana and an important industrial, commercial and cultural city in the USA. The business district is downtown, but many of the tourist attractions are on the outskirts of Indianapolis.
