Passport information

Generally required. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry.

Visa information

Attention: Travelers are obliged to register their entry and later their exit online and to present a negative COVID test upon entry, which must not be older than 72 hours. A visa is generally required, with the exception of nationals of the following countries listed in the table above, who receive a residence permit free of charge for a tourist or business stay of up to 90 days upon arrival in Honduras or for a tourist stay of max 90 days allowed to enter the CA-4 region (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua): EU countries, Switzerland, Turkey.

Costs

Germany, Austria, Turkey Tourist and Business Visa: US$30 (single entry), US$60 (multiple entries). The fees are paid in euros according to the current exchange rate. If a permit is required from the Honduran authorities, the fees are higher. Information can be obtained from the embassy (see contact addresses).

Business and tourist visas.

Validity

Up to a month. Extension for another 60 days at the immigration authorities in Honduras. In person at the consulate or at the consular department of the embassy (see contact addresses).

Application required

(a) Completed application form (downloadable from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos. (c) Passport that is valid for at least six months at the time of entry. (d) If applicable, residence permit for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which is still valid for at least 6 months at the time of application (e) Return flight ticket (copy). (f) Fee (cash upon application or by bank transfer). (g) Invitation. Business visa additionally: (h) Company letter. A stamped, registered return envelope and the proof of transfer should be enclosed with the postal application. Citizens of some countries must first obtain approval from the authorities in Honduras when applying for a visa.

Processing time

About 3 days. Longer if an entry permit has to be obtained from the authorities in Honduras.

Proof of sufficient funds

Foreigners must have sufficient funds.

Entry with children

German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Note: Unaccompanied minors require a notarized travel authorization in Spanish signed by both parents/guardians with additional authentication by a Honduran consulate for entry and exit. If a minor is traveling with only one parent, the other parent must provide travel authorization as described above. Since the 27th Since June 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (including within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
