Hendrix College was founded in 1876 by the United Methodist Church and is located in Conway, Arkansas. It is one of the oldest private liberal arts colleges in the state and was originally named Central Collegiate Institute. The school changed its name to Hendrix College in 1889, after receiving a generous donation from Reverend Isham L. Burrow and his wife, Mary Ann Adams Burrow. The college has a rich history of academic excellence and has been ranked as one of the top liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for many years.
