Hendrix College was founded in 1876 by the United Methodist Church and is located in Conway, Arkansas. It is one of the oldest private liberal arts colleges in the state and was originally named Central Collegiate Institute. The school changed its name to Hendrix College in 1889, after receiving a generous donation from Reverend Isham L. Burrow and his wife, Mary Ann Adams Burrow.
