Gianni Versace Mansion in Miami (USA) – description, history, location. Exact address, phone number, website. Reviews of tourists, photos and videos.
The Versace mansion on Ocean Drive in Miami is a legendary house. And, as usual, mysterious – he changed several owners, and often due to tragic circumstances. The main asset of the villa is its own interiors, which can be briefly described with the words “expensive-rich”. Most tourists try to get here to see indecent, blatant luxury. This is not easy to do – most can only afford to be photographed on the steps by the fence. Nevertheless, this symbol of the unattainable world of the stars of the first echelon continues to attract the curious. See topschoolsoflaw for brief history of Iowa.
History
Villa Versace was built in 1930 by Alden Freeman. As the son of an oil tycoon, he inherited a huge fortune, so at the age of 27 he quit the company where he served as an architect and went traveling. One day, when he was in Santo Domingo, he saw the Alcazar de Colon palace, built according to the project of Diego Columbus, the son of the famous navigator. And he was so impressed that when he returned to America, he designed a mansion with the features of the residence of the Dominican monarchs. The villa was named Casa Casuarina.
Freeman died in 1937. The mansion was bought by a certain Jacques Amsterdam and began to rent out rooms. After there were several more owners, until, finally, in 1992, the house passed into the hands of Gianni Versace. The famous fashion designer literally fell in love with him. Under him, the villa became what we see today: with mosaics on the floor, marble, stucco, and a swimming pool. In 1997, Gianni was shot dead on the steps of the mansion.
What to watch
Today, the Versace villa belongs to businessman Barton Weiss, who bought it at an auction in 2009. As a business man, he did not live in a house that had a line of people wanting to be photographed for 12 years. After a small renovation, adding gold and monograms to the interiors, he opened a hotel and a restaurant in the mansion. Both are intended for very wealthy gentlemen.
The hotel has 10 rooms where close friends stayed during the life of the Italian fashion designer. In one of them, for example, Madonna periodically visited, and today her wealthy fans are willing to pay several hundred dollars a night just for the opportunity to sleep on the same bed.
However, according to rumors, the current interiors may be just a remake, created specifically to impress the nouveau riche. Everything here screams too much about the love of money and gold, too much glitter, statues and brocade. Could Gianni Versace, who had exquisite taste, live among all this?

Museum Park
Museum Park (Miami, USA): detailed description, address and photo. Opportunities for sports and recreation, infrastructure, cafes and restaurants in the park. Reviews of tourists.
The Museum Park is a vivid example of the careful use of urban space: on the site of the former seaport, there is a spacious recreation area with lawns and palm trees, art objects and museums. It was opened in 1976, on the 200th anniversary of US independence, which is why it was originally called Bicentennial Park. Later, next to the green zone, the Historical and Art Museums were built, thanks to which it received its second name. Since January 2019, the park has been named after former Miami Mayor Maurice Ferre.
The area of the park is 12 hectares, 45 thousand people can fit on its territory at the same time.
What to watch
Over time, the recreational complex has turned into a unique cultural center: here you can walk in the fresh air and play sports, get acquainted with works of art and scientific achievements.
The park has football grounds available to everyone, and racing tracks where major sports competitions are held.
In the east, the recreation area is washed by the waters of Biscayne Bay. On the shore is the Plaza of the Spanish Fleet, in the center of which stands a monument reminiscent of the discovery of America by Columbus. In the western part of the park, the modern building of the Perez Art Museum opened in 2013, and the new buildings of the interactive Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science opened in 2017 . The first contains a large collection of contemporary art, the second includes a 3D planetarium, an observatory, a huge aquarium and a Wildlife Center. Nearby, on Biscayne Boulevard, the South Florida Historical Museum has been operating for 40 years, dedicated to the difficult past of this region and the Caribbean as a whole. A new wide embankment leads from the coast to the museums.
Periodically, the park becomes a venue for large-scale cultural events – music festivals and concerts.
