Passport information
Generally required, must be valid for at least 6 months when you leave the country.
Visa information
Generally required, except for stays of up to 28 days, including nationals of the following countries listed in the table above: (a) Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other EU countries (Exception: [1] (nationals of France, Portugal, and Spain are subject to a visa requirement and can apply for a visa upon entry. Citizens of Estonia and the Slovak Republic are subject to a visa requirement and must apply for a visa before travel).(b) Turkish nationals only if they obtain prior entry clearance from the Gambian Immigration Service or when arriving as a tourist on a charter flight.

Note on the visa
For organizational reasons, no visas are currently issued at the consulate of the Republic of Gambia in Berlin.
Costs
Application in Brussels: €50 (single entry). Application in Cologne: €40 (single entry). Application in Zurich: 120 CHF (multiple entries, 3 months validity).

Validity

Transit
Transit travelers who otherwise require a visa and who travel on within 2 hours and do not leave the transit area do not need a transit visa (except for nationals of some countries who always require a transit visa, including Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic and Slovenia). Application required
(a) 1 application form. (b) 2 recent passport photos. (c) Passport, which must be valid for at least six months upon departure. (d) If applicable, a valid residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. (e) Visa Fee (Wire Transfer). (f) Proof of Accommodation A self-addressed stamped envelope (registered mail) and proof of payment of the visa fee should be enclosed with the postal application.

Processing time
1-2 weeks (by post). In Zurich (in person): 2 days. In Brussels: at least 10 working days.
Proof of sufficient funds
All visitors to The Gambia must provide proof of sufficient funds for the length of stay.
Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport with photograph or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Note: Minors under the age of 18 traveling unaccompanied by their legal guardian should carry a travel authorization form for the unaccompanied legal guardian, a copy of the child’s birth certificate and a copy of the unaccompanied legal guardian’s passport. Since the 27th Since June 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
