Franklin University was founded in 1902 as a private, non-profit institution in Columbus, Ohio. It was initially established as the YMCA School of Commerce and was later renamed Franklin College. The university has since grown to offer more than 80 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs. In 2006, Franklin College merged with Urbana University to form Franklin University. The merger created one of the largest private universities in Ohio and provides students with access to over 100 online degree programs and certificates.
