Florida Atlantic University was founded in 1961 and opened its doors to students in 1964. The university is located on the east coast of Florida, just south of West Palm Beach. FAU is a four-year, coeducational, public university offering more than 180 degree programs across its 10 colleges.

To accommodate the growing student body, the University has built several new buildings which include a library, student union, dormitories and classrooms. In addition to these physical expansions, FAU has also grown academically with its offerings increasing to include undergraduate degrees in business, engineering, education and more. The university also offers numerous graduate degrees including master’s programs in business administration and criminal justice. It also offers doctoral programs in psychology and nursing practice. In recent years FAU has also added online degree programs for students who are unable to attend classes on campus or who prefer an online learning format.
