Evia, Greece

Evia, Greece Travel Information

According to holidaysort, Evia (Euboea) (Greek: Εύβοια, Evvia) is an island in the Aegean Sea that is part of Greece (Europe). Evia is the second largest island in Greece after the island of Crete. The capital of Evia is Chalcis (Chalkida). A number of major cities on Evia are: Eretria, Marmari and Karystos.

Evia has not really been discovered by tourists yet. Especially the Greek population itself comes all year round because of its favorable location in relation to Athens. Due to the length of the island, there is a lot to do. There are many densely forested areas in the north, while massive mountains and wide beaches can be found in the center and south of the island. In the center of the country you will find the largest mountain on the island, the Dirfys with a height of 1743 meters. Evia is best known among hikers because of its beautiful nature. See healthinclude for EU economy and currency.
