According to elaineqho, Elba (Italian: Isola d’Elba) is an island in the Mediterranean Sea (Europe) that is part of the Tuscan Archipelago (Italy). Elba is located just 10 kilometers from the Italian west coast near the Italian city of Grosseto. The capital of Elba is Portoferraio. A number of major cities on Elba are: Marciana Marina, Campo nell’Elba and Capoliveri.

Elba is known for its peaceful nature, impressive mountains and beautiful coastline. The coastline consists partly of rock formations and partly of sandy beaches. Inland you will find many nature reserves and beautiful landscapes, the highest point of which is Monte Capanne with an altitude of 1019 meters. Around the island you can practice various water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and diving (snorkeling). The island is often visited by water, which is reflected in the many marinas. The economy of Elba mainly revolves around viticulture and tourism. Elba is also known as the island where Napoleon Bonaparte was in exile from 1814 to 1815. There are still several museums on the island that deal with Napoleon.
