Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) was founded in 1900 by the Church of the Nazarene. It was originally located in East Milton, Massachusetts, and was named Eastern Nazarene Academy. The school opened with only 11 students and six instructors. Over the years, it grew in size and changed its name to Eastern Nazarene College in 1918.
ENC moved to its current location on Quincy Avenue in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1949 due to a growing student body and a need for more space. In 1969, ENC became an accredited four-year college offering both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Since then, ENC has continued to expand its academic offerings while staying true to its Christian mission of providing education that encourages spiritual growth and service to others.
In recent years, ENC has become increasingly diverse with students coming from all over the world. This has allowed ENC to become a leader in intercultural education with a focus on global awareness and cross-cultural understanding. In addition to this, ENC also offers an array of extracurricular activities for students such as clubs, organizations, intramural sports teams, music ensembles and more. Furthermore, ENC is committed to providing quality education at an affordable price so that all students can have access to higher learning regardless of their financial situation.
