Costs

Germany, Austria Visa: €10 (for a stay of 1 to 14 days), €20 (for a stay of 15 to 90 days). Switzerland entry visa: 25 CHF (for a stay of up to 3 months), 170 CHF (for a stay of up to 6 months). e-Visa Transit Visa: US$12 (single entry, 1-14 days stay) Short Term Visa: US$23 (single entry, 15-90 days stay)

Visa types and costs

Entry (Visa de Séjour), tourist (Visa de Tourisme), business (Visa d’affaires) and transit (Visa de Transit) visas. Transit visas are usually issued for 10 days. Visa issuance depends on the nationality of the visitor.

Validity

Different. Visas are usually issued for up to 10 days, in Paris for a maximum of 3 months. Possibility of extension on site at the National Police Headquarters (application must be made immediately upon arrival, but must be submitted before the visa expires).

Transit

Transit travelers who continue their flight on the next connection and do not leave the transit area do not need a transit visa (Except for nationals of Israel, who are denied entry and transit.). At the relevant diplomatic mission or an e-Visa (tourist, business or transit visa) online.

Application required

(a) 2 application forms (can be downloaded from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos. (c) Passport that is valid for at least six months at the time of entry. (d) Return or Onward Ticket. (e) Hotel booking or accommodation certificate or letter of invitation from the person to be visited in Djibouti. (f) If applicable, a copy of the residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. (g) Copy of most recent paycheck or proof of sufficient funds. (h) Fee (by bank transfer) plus transfer of the postage fee (5 € from Germany; 7 € from abroad). (j) Evidence of purpose of travel. (k) unaccompanied minors: notarized permission from parents or of the parent who is not traveling with you. Business visas additionally: (l) Letter from own company and letter of invitation from business partner in Djibouti.

Usually 1-4 working days, in some cases up to 4 weeks.

Entry with children

German: Own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Minors traveling alone or with only one parent must have a notarized declaration of consent from their parents or the other parent in French. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
