DeVry University was founded in 1931 by Herman A. DeVry as the DeForest Training School. Initially, the school offered technical training for employees of the rapidly growing electronics industry, primarily in film and television production, and audio-visual techniques. By 1975 DeVry had become a fully accredited university with schools in several states throughout the U.S., offering students a wide range of educational opportunities.
In 1985 DeVry acquired Becker CPA Review to offer preparation courses for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Today DeVry is an established leader in providing quality education to students across the country and around the world through its network of campuses and online learning options. In addition to offering traditional degree programs such as Business Administration, Accounting and Computer Science; DeVry also offers specialized programs such as Healthcare Management and Project Management.
