In 1963, it became Chadron State College. In 1971, Chadron State became part of the Nebraska State College System and was granted university status in 1990. Over time, Chadron State has grown to become a comprehensive regional university offering bachelor’s degrees in more than 50 areas of study along with master’s degrees in business administration, education, educational technology leadership and nursing practice. In addition to its academic programs, it is also known for its commitment to student life on campus – from student clubs and organizations to intramural sports teams. The college is also home to several historic buildings including Old Main Hall which was built almost 100 years ago in 1922.
