Capitol College was established in 1927 as a two-year college to provide technical and professional training for students in the District of Columbia. The college was initially located on the second floor of a building at 10th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest. In 1935, Capitol College moved to a new facility at 13th Street and Massachusetts Avenue Northwest, where it remained until its relocation in 1962 to the current location in Laurel, Maryland.
