According to thesciencetutor, Cambodia (Khmer: កម្ពុជា, Kâmpŭchéa) is a country in Asia bordering Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Cambodia has been independent from France since 1953. The capital of Cambodia is Phnom Penh. A number of major cities in Cambodia are: Battambang, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and Prey Veng.
Cambodia is known for its untouched nature, the rice fields, the small villages, the nature parks and the seaside resort of Sihanoukville. There are also many temples around Angkor, including the largest temple in the world, the “Angkor Wat” and the smaller “Bayon” temple. Many of these temples are very old and consist for the most part of overgrown ruins. Cambodian cuisine is best known for its many fish dishes. The fish is mostly caught in the Tonlé Sap lake. This is a large lake in the middle of Cambodia. This lake is also recommended for tourists. For example, one can take a hydrofoil across the lake from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. Unfortunately, Cambodia is still known for poverty. A large part of the population lives below the poverty line. This is especially reflected in the smaller villages. See plus-size-tips for the best of Cambodia.
