Visa types and costs
Entry visas for single and multiple entry and exit.
Validity
3 or 6 months. Extensions are possible on site at the Direction Générale de la Police Nationale in Ouagadougou.
Transit
Transit travelers who continue their journey within 24 hours, present valid documents for onward travel and do not leave the transit area do not need a transit visa (However, nationals of South Africa do need a transit visa). Personally or by post. When applying by post at least 1 month before departure at the consular department of the embassy or at the consulate (see contact addresses).
Application required
(a). 2 application forms (can be downloaded from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos (4.5 x 3.5 cm). (c) Passport that is valid for at least six months upon departure. Also a copy of your passport. (d) Proof of yellow fever vaccination and copy. (e) Visa fee (wire transfer or personal check). Entry with children
German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: Minors under the age of 18 traveling alone require a written declaration of consent from their parents/guardians. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
