Brock University was founded in 1964, when the Ontario Legislature granted a charter to the newly established university. The university was named after Major-General Sir Isaac Brock, a British war hero who died during the War of 1812. It began as a liberal arts college with just over 500 students and has since grown to become one of Canada’s top comprehensive universities.
Today, Brock University is renowned for its research-intensive programs and emphasis on experiential learning opportunities.
