Bradley University was founded in 1897 as Bradley Polytechnic Institute by industrialist and philanthropist Lydia Moss Bradley. It was established to provide educational opportunities to people in the Peoria, Illinois area. The school initially offered a two-year college program and a four-year engineering program. Over the years, the school has grown significantly, now offering more than 100 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in five colleges: Foster College of Business, College of Education and Health Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts, and Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology.
