Bethany College was founded in 1840 by Alexander Campbell, a Presbyterian minister. It is the oldest degree-granting institution west of the Allegheny Mountains and is located in Bethany, West Virginia. The college was established as an educational center for the Disciples of Christ and has maintained its affiliation to this day. Initially, Bethany College only offered courses in classical education and theology but has since expanded to include numerous liberal arts programs.

In 1845, Bethany College began offering a Bachelor of Arts degree and became one of the first colleges in the United States to do so. In 1887, the college added a Master’s program which allowed students to pursue advanced study in various fields. The college also began offering postgraduate studies in 1930 when it opened its Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Bethany College is a small liberal arts college located in Lindsborg, Kansas. Founded in 1881, Bethany College is a four-year institution that offers a variety of degree programs, including Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. The college has an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students and employs more than 40 full-time faculty members.
