Passport information

Generally required, must be valid for at least the duration of the stay. Passports of travelers requiring a multiple entry visa for transit countries UK, Canada or USA must be valid for at least 45 days after departure.

Note on the passport

A return or onward ticket for a country that you can legally travel to must be presented. Anyone intending to travel home via a third country that requires a visa must obtain one prior to entering Bermuda. This is particularly important when traveling to and from the USA (ESTA approval or visa).

Visa information

Not required for tourists and business travelers for stays of up to 21 days (extension possible locally) including citizens of the following countries listed in the table above: (a) Germany, Austria and all other EU countries; (b) Switzerland. Attention: [1] Travelers who require a multiple-entry visa to transit through the UK, US or Canada to Bermuda must present it upon arrival in Bermuda. Both this visa and passport must be valid for at least 45 days upon departure from Bermuda.

Costs

The fees apply to nationals who require a visa and have a valid residence permit for Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Germany, Austria and Switzerland: €104 (single and multiple entry, valid up to 6 months), €473 (multiple entry, valid for 1-2 years), transit visa: €44 (in the transit area), €82 (outside the transit area). Validity

It varies depending on the purpose of the trip and nationality.

Transit

Travelers who otherwise require a visa and who do not leave the airport and continue their journey within 5 hours on the same plane or the next flight and present confirmed onward flight tickets do not require a transit visa. [1] Exception: Citizens of Turkey need a transit visa in any case. First, an online application must be printed and completed (www.gov.uk/apply-uk-visa). Travelers requiring a visa must register at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome. After that, a personal appointment to apply for the visa at the Visa Application Centers in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Munich, Geneva, Zurich or in Vienna will be arranged. It is not possible to submit an application by post.

Application required

(a) 1 application form. (b) Passport valid for at least 6 months upon entry with at least one blank page. (c) 1 recent color passport photograph. (d) Fee (proof of online payment). (e) Confirmation from travel agent of paid round trip. (f) Business travel: letter from host. (g) If applicable, a residence permit for Germany/Austria/Switzerland that is still valid for at least two months after the return date. (h) Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement, travel agency statement for package tours, letters of invitation from relatives or friends for private visits). (i) A stamped, registered return envelope.

Processing time

From the personal appointment of the visa application usually 2 weeks; up to 3 weeks for an additional interview or documents to be submitted later. Long-term visas usually up to 12 weeks.

Proof of sufficient funds

Foreigners must have sufficient funds.

Documents required upon entry

(a) Return or Onward Ticket. (b) Visas for third countries, if applicable. (c) Proof of Accommodation. (d) Sufficient Funds. (e) Immigration and Customs form (both forms will be given on the plane and should be completed prior to arrival). (f) valid passport.

Extension of stay

Extensions must be applied for locally at the Department of Immigration (see residence permit).

Entry with children

Germans: Machine-readable children’s passport with photograph or their own passport (when arriving/departing via the USA: visa-free transit only with their own EU passport. Minors with children’s passports require a visa for transit). Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa requirements apply to children as to their parents. Please note: minors traveling with an adult who is not their legal guardian must have authorization from their parent/guardian that they may travel with that adult. Since the 27th Since June 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) for trips abroad (including within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.

Entry with pets

Dogs and cats must be identified with a microchip implanted in the neck and require a health certificate upon entry that clearly describes the animal and is a maximum of 10 days old. The animal must be free of contagious diseases and parasites and must not have been in an area with rabies within the last 6 months. From the age of 3 months, the animal must have been vaccinated against rabies at least 1 month and no more than 12 months before entry into the country. Animals brought directly to Bermuda from the following countries are exempt from the rabies vaccination requirement: Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Jamaica and New Zealand. A certificate is required for dogs and cats from all countries, confirming that the animal comes from a place where there has been no case of foot-and-mouth disease in the past 30 days. Permission from the Department of Environmental Protection in Paget is required for dogs staying in Bermuda longer than 28 days. An import permit must be applied for in good time before entry.
