Baptist Bible College and Seminary (BBCS) was founded in 1932 by Dr. W.E. Moore, a pastor and educator who saw the need for an institution that would provide training for pastors and church leaders. BBCS began as a one-room schoolhouse in Johnson City, Pennsylvania, with the goal of equipping students with the knowledge and skills they needed to serve God in their congregations and communities. Over the years, BBCS has grown to become one of the leading institutions of its kind in the United States. Its mission remains unchanged: to provide students with a biblical foundation so that they may effectively minister to others through their ministry and service.
Since its founding, BBCS has expanded its educational offerings, adding associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees in theology and related fields. The seminary also offers courses on topics such as Christian apologetics, leadership development, counseling skills, church history, missions work, intercultural studies, worship studies, and more. In addition to providing academic instruction from highly qualified professors who are committed to equipping students with a biblical worldview and perspective on life’s challenges, BBCS also provides spiritual formation opportunities through chapels services on campus as well as other activities such as student retreats and mission trips. These spiritual formation opportunities help students grow in their faith while learning how to apply their faith practically in their lives and ministries.
