Baltimore International College (BIC) is a private, coeducational college founded in 1970. Located in Baltimore, Maryland, BIC offers a variety of degree programs, including Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees. BIC was established to provide students with an education that focused on the development of professional skills and abilities. The college was originally located in downtown Baltimore but has since moved to a state-of-the-art facility in the suburban city of Catonsville.
In its early years, BIC offered only two degree programs: culinary arts and hospitality management. The college quickly added additional degree programs as demand for its services increased. In 1989, BIC launched its first online degree program—an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. This program was one of the first of its kind in the United States and helped to establish BIC as a leader in distance learning education. In subsequent years, the college added more online courses and expanded its curriculum to include disciplines such as computer science, nursing, and health sciences. Today, BIC offers more than 50 different undergraduate degrees across seven academic divisions and has become one of the most respected institutions for higher education in Maryland.
The college has also become known for providing students with unique internships and experiential learning opportunities that give them real-world experience while they are still enrolled at BIC. Through these experiences, students gain valuable insight into their chosen field while preparing themselves for successful careers upon graduation. Many graduates have gone on to become successful business leaders or entrepreneurs throughout the country; others have enjoyed successful careers within the public sector or academia.
