Visa information

Attention: Only people who have been fully vaccinated against Corona or have recovered from Corona are allowed to enter Azerbaijan. A visa is required for nationals of the countries listed in the table above, among others. e-Visa Germans, Austrians and nationals of all other EU countries, Swiss and Turkish nationals can apply for an e-Visa for stays of up to 30 days and for a single entry. A passport that is at least 3 months beyond the validity of the visa is required to apply for the e-Visa.

Costs

Germany, Austria: Business/private/tourist visa: single or double entry (up to 3 days or 3 months): 35 €; Electronic Tourist Visa: (valid for 30 days): US$20. Transit visa: €20 (valid for 1-5 days); Children under the age of 12 receive a free visa. Switzerland: Business/private/tourist visa: single entry: 43 CHF; multiple entry: 43 CHF. Electronic Tourist Visa: (valid for 30 days): US$20. Turkey There are no visa fees for Turkish nationals.

Transit

German nationals do not need a visa for a transit at Baku Airport. If you enter and/or exit via Moscow, a Russian transit visa is required (see Russian Federation). Personally or by post at least 1 month before the start of the trip to the responsible consular representation. In Berlin, it is not possible to submit an application by post. Applications must be submitted in Berlin in person or by proxy. e-Visa for tourist stays:

Application required

(a) 1 application form (downloadable from the website of the relevant diplomatic mission). (b) 2 passport photos (3 x 4 cm). (c) Passport valid for at least three months beyond the expiry date of the visa. (d) Proof of payment of the fee (bank transfer only). (e) Tourist Visa: Accommodation and flight booking confirmation. (f) Business visa: For visa approval at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the business partner submits an application at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baku. A certificate of employment must also be submitted. (g) Private trips: Original of an official invitation issued in the relevant department of the Ministry of Interior of the Azerbaijan Republic. If the application is submitted by post, a stamped, registered return envelope must be enclosed. If you are applying in person, we recommend that you make an appointment with the consular department in advance.

min. 3- 10 working days (Germany, Switzerland), 1-2 weeks (Austria). e-Visa: approx. 3 working days.

Legally Required Registration

All foreigners entering the country are required to register with the state migration service within three days of arrival if the planned stay is longer than 10 days. The hotel takes care of the registration for hotel guests. The visa is only valid for the cities indicated in the visa.

Entry with children

German: Machine-readable children’s passport or your own passport. Austrians: Own passport. Swiss: Own passport. Turks: Own passport. Note: The same visa regulations apply to children as to their parents. Since June 27, 2012, children need their own travel document (passport / children’s passport) to travel abroad (also within the EU). Entries of children in the parental passport are no longer possible.
