In 1943, the school was reorganized into a four-year institution, and in 1945, it became the first state-supported university in Tennessee. Austin Peay State University (APSU) is a public university in Clarksville, Tennessee. Founded in 1927, it is the oldest and most comprehensive university in the state. APSU enrolls over 11,000 students from all 50 states and more than 60 countries. The student body is diverse with a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
