Amridge University was established in 1967 by Dr. Thomas Amridge, Jr., a pastor and veteran of World War II. The university was founded with the aim of providing students with a quality, faith-based education that would enable them to become successful leaders in their chosen fields. Amridge began as a two-year college offering Associate’s degrees, but has since grown to include Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degree programs. Over the years, Amridge has become well known for its strong academic curriculum, dedicated faculty and staff and commitment to developing students spiritually as well as academically.

Amridge has continued to grow over the years and now offers more than 30 undergraduate majors, 15 graduate programs and three doctoral programs in areas like education, business administration and theology. The university also offers online classes for those who cannot attend classes on campus due to work or family commitments. In addition to its rigorous academic offerings, Amridge also provides a variety of extracurricular activities such as intramural sports teams, student organizations and community service opportunities.
