Radiology technicians perform imaging studies are known as X-rays. Radiology technicians who complete an associate’s degree in radiology from an accredited program approved by the American Registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT), are eligible to take the ARRT exam. Students who pass the ARRT exam is certified as radiologic technologists. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for radiologic technologists is expected to grow by 17 percent from 2008 to 2018.
