The free to play has become in an alternative to payment games. A different model that allows us to play for free but to unlock and use certain options will have to go through cash or promote the mouth in social networks. A strategy that many have used, and a few have shown that it is quite effective.
Know that Gameloft has decided to use this model to deploy one of their new games: The Oregon Trail: pioneers. A sequel of the known by many The Oregon Trail, a title that we put in the role of an American family was going to the conquest of the West in search of New Territories.
In this installment we will not touch to make the trip if not that we are already established in a territory, which we will have to develop crops making, building construction and dealing with the threats of the time: wildlife, thefts, stampedes of animals…
The development very reminiscent of games such as Farmville social networks: crops are collected every ‘x’ time and make certain actions We need energy, We can help our friends using Facebook or own Gameloft service.
In addition, although the game is free, we have a virtual credit system which can get by buying them with real money either spreading messages through social networks. The basic game experience is free but if you want a little more we will have to proceed to checkout.
Although this type of free to play doesn’t convince me, there are games that make it better, I have to admit that The Oregon Trail: pioneers (such as game) is very well done and the experience is fun. More check back what the use of the free to play and the limitations this imposed, however if we have more friends that play is enough more fun.
