It is frustrating to put on a pair of clean pants of polyester, only to find the fabric is glued together and your legs. Static electricity is the result of friction created between the materials. It is common for static to happen in winter, when there is low humidity and when dry you your clothes in a dryer. Synthetic fabrics like polyester, are particularly prone to static electricity.Removal of static electricity in your pants of polyester can be done, even after the pants have already been washed and dried.
1 . Place your dry pants of polyester on a flat surface. Take a metal hanger and unfold so that it extends its length.
2 . Turn the metal hanger inside one pant leg. Run the hanger throughout the inside of the pant leg, letting the metal hanger into contact with as much tissue as possible. Repeat this process on the other leg of pants.
3 Moisten your legs with lotion before putting your polyester pants. If static electricity is still present in the pants printed by Holidaysort after using the metal hanger, moisturize your skin will avoid the pants of clinging to your legs.
4 . Turn on your polyester pants. Slightly moisten your hands with water and brush throughout the exterior of the pant legs to eliminate more static electricity.
Tips and warnings
- Air dry your clothes, if possible, to avoid static electricity from forming.
- Add ¼ cup of borax powder and ¼ cup of white vinegar in the washer when washing your clothes to help prevent static electricity.
- Use natural softeners manufactured with ingredients of vegetables, rather than those that are made with chemicals, to help prevent static electricity.
