Parts of the sleeping bag for camping:
Spacious base

The base of the bag must be broad enough that fit both legs and can move on the inside of the bag.

Filling

They are those who will protect us really cold. The system consists of getting form the greater number of air chambers of minimum size. The weight and volume of material will be possible minors. Synthetic fibers allow to put the bag directly in the washing machine, with a minimum of care and are ideal as sacks of summer, which, as a result of sweat, get dirty before. The high-end bags used fibers of lower volume, with superioriores thermal retention. The pen has the property of expand and compress better than fiber. It also takes up less space when the bag is inside his sheath and equal benefits, it weighs less. Its drawback is that they are more delicate than the synthetic and should avoid getting wet, for which reason, inside some models carry nylon and not cotton (cotton absorbs moisture). You can also wash often such as fibers and it must be done with special products. If not, feather cakes, and gaps are created in the halls of the SAC.

Layer insulation

It allows to isolate the cold from the outside. If you have a high thickness and is capable of storing air, it will provide better insulation.

Head band

It allows to adjust thermal collar wrap to better preserve the warmth of the SAC.

Double zipper

It will allow reconfigured it if the temperature is high. Special Winter bags zippers prevent that they freeze. Models that have a flap with the same filling as the rest of the bag prevent the entrance of the cold, wind and rain.

Different seams

A high-performance bag always will have internal seams /externas dissociated or displaced. Bags that have unique sewing, will directly transmit cold through them.

Outdoor. Nylons and similar fabrics are used. Water repellent treatments help to repel humidity. The textile fabrics waterproof /transpirable can be used safely in bivouacs, although these cases we normally use bivouac covers.

Indoor. They are usually nylon or cotton. The nylon is much lighter than cotton, but unlike the latter, with the sweat sticks to the skin. Cotton, summer, absorbs the moisture generated by perspiration and in winter it retains heat.

Adjustable thermal collar

It is a piece that attached to the inside of the bag, you can wrap around the neck. Prevents the loss of heat from the body, allowing if desired, leave the entrance of bag fully open. All used bag for cold ends should have a collar.

Adjustable hood

It allows to protect the head from the cold. It works together with the collar to avoid losing heat through the top of the bag.

Velcro adjustment on shoulders

It’s a simple velcro closure at the height of the shoulders which ensures that the zipper does not open if one moves during the night.

Thermal flap at zipper

A thermal flap helps keep the heat in the SAC. Search for protective bands covering the closure, if you need to keep warm.
