He participated to the diagonal of fools and the Treg. Jean-Marc Delorme took the opportunity to test a pair of shoes: Asics Trabuco Fuji 2.

The test conditions
To perform this test, I traveled about 600 km with majority of training in the mountains, on paths very technical (but also very varied as sand and mud terrains) and competing on the diagonal of fools and the Treg.
About the weather, it has been variable, ranging from the dry weather at the time wet and muddy.
My first reaction: the look of the shoe is quite nice!
In practice, like the previous sports shoes, the Trabuco Fuji 2 is very stable and reassuring in all technical ways, thanks to its technology DuoMax present on several models of the brand.
These shoes are very comfortable and breathable, even on very long with a high temperature. They behave perfectly well in the more technical descents, they are accurate and not too wide which allows rather quick adaptation. Note that the lacing is very nice. On phases of rise, there is really a very good performance with crampons arranged at 90 °. The grip on rock or scree is reasonable even if my taste it deserves to be a little further. Finally on the muddy surface, she don’t “stuff not too”, the evacuation of mud has been done properly.
The cushioning is perfect and well distributed on the shoe. When dynamism, it is OK, but this isn’t the most dynamic model in the range!
Now we come to the problem! After having trained with three different pairs, I had to pick up some spikes of the sole as well as the stone barrier several times. Certainly a collage at the factory default…
That said, this is my only downside for a shoe that is and remains, for me, a reference no doubt in trail and ultra-trail.
I would advise these Trabuco Fuji 2 both training for the competition. A focus on: outputs on way, forest and mountain. This model seems to me suitable for all profiles: from beginner to the experienced rider, and for any type of stride.
