6 Tips to Keep Your Tricot Well Kept

Knitwear, dresses, sweaters, coats, vests and so on are comfortable and beautiful pieces, especially for the cooler times, they are usually more expensive because they are difficult to make.Good tricot clothing involves a lot of manual labor in your production, following difficult and often time consuming techniques. However, if you wash the tricot suit incorrectly, it can shrink, bend, stain and end all your beauty and elegance. We made this post with some tips to keep your tricot well taken care of, our goal is to help you take care of your pieces and increase the lifespan of your beloved knitting.

1. Take good care of the preparation of washing your knitting:

The first decision is to choose the pieces that will be washed along with your knitting, careful with the pieces of different colors. Make sure your knitting does not release paint, preventing it from staining the other pieces and keeping your knitting well taken care of.

The water should be at room temperature so the laundry does not shrink. Turn the part inside out to wash, avoiding friction and forming balls on the right side.

2. How to wash your tricot carefully?

The best way to wash woolen knitwear and knitwear is in the tank, washed by hand. You should soak with water and coconut soap. (Liquid or bar).

Never use the laundry soap as it shrinks and hardens the wool.

Rub gently and gently, so as not to form the unwanted balls. Rinse and soak again with softener.

If you choose the machine: Use special bags to wash delicate clothes (with zipper closure).Put the inside-out piece inside the bag tightly so it will not allow it to spin when spinning, close the zipper and put it in the washing machine for delicate clothes to keep your knitting well taken care of.

3. How to dry your knitting?

Do not twist your knitting. Let it drain a little. Then squeeze the clothes between your hands to remove excess water. Another interesting technique is to put the wool or knit clothes in the middle of a towel (wrapping the clothes with the white towel) and squeeze to remove excess water.

This “thing” of using the towel helps to get more water out. Do not hang on the clothesline because the weight when wet can deform the piece and do not put it to dry on a hanger. Never use the dryer because the high temperature shrinks and deforms the knitting.

4. Care When Passing Your Knitting?

There is usually no need to wear woolen clothing. But if you need to iron a skirt or a sweater refer to the temperature guidelines on the clothing label. When ironing, the iron should not touch the wool. The steam itself already causes the heat of the iron to smooth and remove the dough.Who does not have steam iron, uses the iron with a paninho and the inside out.Another option is to protect clothing with special anti-glare fabrics.

5. What is the best way to keep your knitting?

Store in a tnt bag, preferably black, for lighting do not take away the color of the piece, do not fade. You can also use cotton bags.Never hang the tricot or store it in hangers inside the closet as it damages the modeling.Keep folded in drawers or shelves with soaps or dried flowers to make them scented. If you live in a very humid place, put an anti-mold in the drawer, as washing a knitted cloth stained with mold can be very laborious.

6. How to remove the polka dots from knitting?

The best way to remove the lint and polka dots from woolen fabrics is to wrap a duct tape in the hand and fingers with the adhesive side out. Pass several times over the mesh until it looks new. With these small care it is possible to secure your conserved tricot pieces for longer and keep your tricot well taken care of.
